The presence of bacterial plaque is the main cause of the most common oral periodontal disease (which affects the gums) and caries.
The microorganisms which make up bacterial plaque initiate the gum, giving rise to gingivitis (inflamed and bleeding gums). In a more advanced state, when it affects the ligaments and the bony tissue, it is known as periodontitis. This is a serious disease which can lead to loose teeth or even the loss of teeth.
Chlorhexidine, the primary ingredient of KIN GINGIVAL, prevents the growth of microorganisms from bacterial plaque, thus ensuring healthy gingival tissues.
Fluoride, the second ingredient of KIN GINGIVAL, makes dental enamel more resistant to the dissolving action of the acid produced by the plaque, thus blocking the mechanism which causes caries, while making teeth less sensitive.
